The bundle combines two components into a complete system:
SunLight – the 3-in-1 charger
The SunLight is the heart of the system. It sits between the energy source and your e-bike battery and takes over the complete charge control: fully automatic, without settings, plug & play.
What makes it special: It supports three completely different energy sources via the same output:
Solar via folding module – the charger processes input voltages from 10.5 to 30 volts and uses MPP tracking to get the maximum yield from the solar panel at all times. With 95% efficiency, hardly anything is lost.
12V cigarette lighter – whether in the car on the way to the trail, in the camper, or on the onboard battery: the SunLight also charges via any 12V vehicle source. Integrated software protects the vehicle battery from deep discharge – you can continue driving without problems after your battery has been charged.
Power outlet – the included power supply unit from GreenCell enables classic charging at home or at any campsite connection, with full charging power of 3.3 A.
The housing is made of aluminum, water-resistant according to IP 65, and weighs just 350 grams. All currents, voltages, and temperatures are monitored in real-time. Towards the end of the charging process, the SunLight automatically reduces the charging power – this protects the battery cells and extends their lifespan.
162W Ective folding module
The solar module is the second component of the system and solves the classic problem of portable solar energy: either too large for on the go or too weak to really make a difference.
162 watts of monocrystalline power with 23% cell efficiency provide approximately 20% charge per hour for a 500 Wh battery under good conditions. Unfolded, the module measures 1185 × 866 mm; folded, it fits into a DIN A4 case with a depth of 11 cm. Weight: 4.3 kg.
The case also includes two hook straps that allow you to easily hang the module on the parked e-bike. This way, it is optimally aligned with the sun, and the battery and charger remain in the shade. Integrated USB ports allow you to charge your smartphone or other devices simultaneously.
In practice: This is what a tour looks like with it
You start in the morning with a full battery. At noon, during a stop at the mountain lake, you unfold the module, hang it on the bike, and leave it in the sun for an hour. When you saddle up again, 20% has been recharged. For a 500 Wh battery, this is 100 watt-hours – enough for another 30 to 40 kilometers depending on the terrain.
In the evening at the campsite, the camper's auxiliary battery or the car's cigarette lighter is running. The SunLight takes over, and you take care of dinner.
